TDS on payment made to professors

A college hires services of 2 Professors.
One is for Accounting and other is for
Economics.

College do not want to take them on payroll. It pays Rs. 30000/- per month to the professor of Accounting and Rs 1000/ per lecture to the professor of economics.
The yearly payment amounts to be Rs 300000/ and Rs 270000/ respectively.

Whether TDS is required to be deducted ?
If yes ? under which section it has to be deducted ?

10 February 2011 section 194J : 10 % TDS will be applicable.

10 February 2011 agreed with Sudhash. This will be under the professional services rendered u/s 194J & applicable rate is 10%.

Sir, when college appoints an on line service provider to educate its students, and the service provider is paid Rs. 300000/- ( @ 25000/ pm.)
TDS is required to be deducted on the payment but under which section 194C or 194J?
