tds non payments no disclosure in audit report

09 January 2010 the auditor who did tax audit for a company, did not disclose non payments of tds on expenses on the grounds that they were paid in the next financial year after due date. will the auditor be in fault if found out during scrutiny
what is the safest way for the auditor in such cases like what way he should do the audit in a manner that he allows clients to claim expenditure by not reporting and also is safegaurded as a professional auditor in case there ascrutiny assessment.??

09 January 2010 he shouls report the status upto the status of signing. He should not report on the basis of future events.
