Hello expert A person is employed in Punjab National Bank. TDS cetificate furnished by employe bank indicates a tds deducted of Rs. 20000. But 26 AS statement is not showing it.
what can be the reason.
Is it due to the fact that employer is a Government? I have once read that for tax deducted by goverment employee 266AS statement use to be blank, because for them TDS deducton is done only by passing accounting entries. And this system is not fully functional rightnow. (unlike to the non-govenment employee for whom Bank funishes data over TIN system. afte that employer funish quaterly statement. only when both match, 26AS statement reflect TDS.

There is no difference in the system of deduction and filing the return by PNB and other assessees. You have to take up the matter with PNB.
Following may be the reasons for not appearing tds credits in 26AS: 1. PNB has not filed eTDS return 2.PNB has filed return but not mentioned your PAN 3. Return filed by PNB has been rejected by NSDL. Please check your TDS Certificate also if Token No/Receipt no. of eTDS return has mentioned. You need to talk to PNB Accounts department to get it rectified.
