You deduct TDS on the salary paid by the company only need not to consider other companies paid salary and deducted TDS. OM SAI SRI SAI JAI JAI SAI

You should ask him to submit the details of Income from Salary and TDS deducted thereon from previous company. After taking all these into consideration you should calculate his/her tax liability and deduct TDS.

Providing details of salary received previous employer is optional and not mandatory for the employee. if u have no other information than u have to deduct tds on salary from nov only.

Gross paid by you for the year is consider for tds purpose. If you paid 36000 then you deduct on basis of Rs.36000 you forget about the drawn at the previous employer if you required clear then ask her to submit the certificate regarding the salary draw from the previous employer for the year but it is optional not mandatory. You don't want to do tds on the previous employer's salary then deduct tds on the payment of the salary by you. i.e on Rs.36000 basis don't get confusion above expert is clear.
