TDS

This query is : Resolved

17 March 2009 We are receiving services from the Govt(Surveying) for that we paid consultancy charges after deductiong TDS.

we means Company, Firm & Individual combinely receiving services.

Now we want to remit the TDS amount to Govt a/c, the deductee name what we have to mention company or firm or individual.

17 March 2009 Deductor - Who is deducting the tax.
Deductee - Whose tax is being deducted.

So here deductee is Govt.

17 March 2009 For deposit of TDS, you need to mention, whether the deductee(from whose bill tax has been deducted)is a Company(Corporation Tax) or a non company(income Tax).

No need to mention the status of the deductor(You).

You have said that you are receiving service from the Government. It is not clear, whether the service provider is a Company.

It may be noted that, TDS is not applicable to Govt. Agencies, since they are not liable to pay Income-tax.
