16 February 2016 if person has Power of Attorney regarding purchase of property,then he is liable to deduct TDS@1%

16 February 2016 POA holder, as an agent liable to deduct TDS and pay to government, while making the payment to seller of the immovable property.

16 February 2016 Please refer the provisions of Indian Contract Act, 1872 regarding the duties of an agent.
Study the POA by referring the duties of the agent as per POA i.e. section 211 of ICA, 1872;
Study the law of agency i.e. Indian Contract Act, 1872 from section 211 to 218.
