Standard Deduction for annuity from Superannuation - is TAN mandatory

This query is : Resolved

15 July 2022 I am 60 years of age, retired and have started receiving annuity from superannuation fund which my previous employer deposited with LIC of India. I am trying to show the annuity as salary under "pensioner-others" category and the ITR form requires details of TDS and TAN of employer. IS Employer LIC of India and if so, how do I know the TAN of LIC of India (P&GS Unit) so that I can fill these details in ITR? it doesn't accept zero TDS and blank TAN or N/A in TAN.

15 July 2022 Check your monthly statement
Or TDS certificate, if TDS been deducted
Or call customer care
Otherwise .....
TAN no is not mandatory, leave it blank.

15 July 2022 Thanks MR. Rambhai. While no TDS was deducted, should the form not accept zero as TDS and in that case TAN can be blank? How do I fill up ITR in this case. (I am filing it as Salary and it asks for TAN as it mandatorily expects TDS for salary). IS there any other way to claim the deduction? Thanks

15 July 2022 If TDS has not been deducted no need to fill schedule 'Tax paid' or TDS column.
In Schedule 'Salary' Tan is not mandatory.

15 July 2022 Thanks. But is Employer LIC of India or that is also to be left blank ( think that is mandatory).

16 July 2022 Name & address of Employer is mandatory.

16 July 2022 Thanks a lot for clarifications.

16 July 2022 You are welcome ..
