Staff fund deduction

02 August 2013 In the same loop of my previous query.

A STAFF FUND of Rs. 750 has also been deducted.

Is it legal to deduct Staff fund. The only condition for return of Staff fund is You have to Give 3 months Notice before leaving the Job.

So, its not sure whether amount collected every month over the years will be returned or not.

whether its legal to deduct such fund?

IF EMLOYEE NOT GIVEN NOTICE BEFORE LEAVING THE JOB
THE YOU CAN FORFEIT THE AMOUNT

IT IS NOT A LEGAL DEDUCTION.

My appointment letter did not had such condition. I am working at Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha(www.silicon.ac.in). I working since 10th June, 2011 here. But this June on wards A staff fund of Rs. 750 is being deducted.

This Institution is since 2000, and has 389 Employees and is deducting this Staff Fund from every employee.

If its not legal, what can I do to take step against this.
