Service tax return e filing

This query is : Resolved

25 January 2014 Hello Sir,
I am having question on e-filing service tax return. One of my client had registered for service tax number even he had not exceeded exemption turnover. From That Date Till Today, he has not yet exceeded Turnover Limit of Rs.9,00,000/-. He is getting letters from Dept. to pay tax. Whether he has to bother about it or not? If yes, then what will be his tax liability?
Shall I File his Nil Return from www.aces.gov.in?
Please Answer To This Problem Sir. Its Urgent. Thank You In Advance.

25 January 2014 In the situation cited, file NIL return and reply to the letter accordingly.

25 January 2014 No, dear, As per my opinion is that if you have not exceed limit why taken Rc No. from the department, now u taken RcNo. then you will be liable to pay Service tax whenever the limit is less than. So, go through the department in this regard & take it seriously for the govt. liability.
thanx.

25 January 2014 Dear Swapnil,

Since you have taken service tax number voluntarily you will have to pay service tax irrespective of turnover. Here although the turnover does not exceed Rs 9 lacs but still you will have to pay service tax.

07 October 2016 Thank You So Much All of You. I have taken your advise into consideration and done the same as you advised.
