I would like to know A proprietary concern undertakes job work of cutting fabrics using laser cutting machines. It is purely a labor work. The material for cutting is supplied by the person giving for job work.
My query is Whether service tax will be applicable in this case.

If this job work falls within the category of manufacture and the person giving that job has undertaken to pay excise on the manufactured product, then it will not fall within the purview of ST.

If the jobwork is done by you and return to the supplier, its job work activities falliwing under the catergory of "Business Auxillary Service and chargabel to service tax. you should charged the service tax at your end.
