Secttion 32 additional depreciation

This query is : Resolved

12 May 2012 Sir,
whether electrical installation installed in factory will qualify for additional depreciation?
According to me it will qualify because it will covered under the BLOCK of plant machinery?

Kindly give me your advice in this regard...

12 May 2012 No Additional Depreciation can be claimed on Electrical Installation as it is generally covered under the Furniture & Fittings. It can not be told as plant & machinery unless it is forming an integral part of P&M.

12 May 2012 this installation is controlling the power supply which is to be used in manufacture... in that case what will be ur opinion?

13 May 2012 Dear Mr. Biren,

Electrical Installation shall always be treated as Furniture & Fixtures. It will not, in any case, be called a plant & Machinery.
Electrical Equipment & Installments may be used for controlling the power supply or to provide the power supply to plant & machinery.

The facts given will not alter the answer given by Expert.

Thanks
