Salary Form 16 Query

This query is : Resolved

09 April 2011 Dear Sirs & Friends,

One of our employees recently joined has income from salary from his previous employer. The previous employer has deducted TDS on it. My question is can we include his previous employers salary and TDS deduction in our Form 16, is it feasible to do so. Please help me. I think doing so is not right, but need your opinion about the same

Regards,
Yajuvendra Rawat

10 April 2011 u can do so. u have to take a declaration in form 12B from the incoming member, consider his previous salary details and calculate his tax liability on the basis of consolidated figure and then deduct TDS on the shortfall.U may show his salary details as well as TDS details from the previous employer in Form 16.

10 April 2011 yes its right to do,
you have to do consolidation of total salary less all exemption and deduciton and afterthan you have less tds from previous employer and deduct by you as shortfall all in your form 16.
