Could you pls anyone answer my queroy below

As per companies act, there is a requirement to retain the documents upto 8 financial years. But can a firm retain the documents in the form of soft data (by scan images ) instead of holding physical files or documents which will be destroyed post conversion of soft data of scan images. Pls reply

19 September 2009 yes no problem. There is IT Act, 2000 to help you.

If the docs related to financial instruments or customer related documents, then can we destroy it, post conversion of scan images. Pls let me know

You can hold documents in the Scanned E-form, But If anybody check that e-documents then Entire data of the Documents must be clearly seen/visible.

You have to install the Computer also, because whenever the Members, Officers or authorised persons came to the Office. They should be given the computer to check the documents.

Every documents which are to be used in preparation of Balance Sheet/Ledger A/Cs should also be lept in the E-form. As they are the base of any transaction.
