This query is : Resolved

1. A1 Form
2. Non - assessee form

Which form to be submitted for the payment of service tax appeal fees ?

10 July 2024 For the payment of service tax appeal fees, you should submit the A1 Form. Here’s why:

1. **A1 Form (Challan)**: This form is used for making payment of service tax, including any dues, interest, or penalty. It is typically used for regular payments related to service tax, including appeal fees.

2. **Non-assessee form**: This form is generally used by individuals or entities who are not registered with the tax department but are required to make payments under specific circumstances. It is not typically used for appeals or regular service tax payments.

Since you are filing an appeal for service tax demand, which involves the payment of appeal fees, you should use the A1 Form to make this payment. Ensure that you fill out the details accurately and follow the payment instructions provided by the tax department or the portal through which you are making the payment.

If you have any specific instructions from the tax department or if there are multiple options available on the portal that are confusing, it’s advisable to consult with a tax professional or contact the tax department directly for clarification. They can provide guidance based on your specific situation and ensure that the payment process is completed correctly.
