Rectification of mistake

I have submitted for a rectification (Credit of TDS not given to a govt .employee) of a mistake apparent on record and my application was duly accepted by the IT Deptt. However, 6 months have passed by but the same has not been disposed off by the AO.
What can be the consequences of the same. Is my position good
