31 July 2014 Dear experts,

I have an income of salary and I file ITR1 form to get TDS return by taken benefit of section 80GG (Total House Rent benifit Rs.24000)

I saw in TV in CNBC (Advices of Lakhotiyaji) channel that if exception is more than 5000, ITR4 should be fill up in salary income.

Kindly solve this above query that did I right file return of ITR1, if yes, so what about the advice of Lakhotiyaji.

Thanks & regards

31 July 2014 lakhotiyaji didnt say ITR4..he said ITR2.

02 August 2014 Dear Nikhilji, I just taken benefit of 80GG (HRA), if I have to file ITR2, so why this section included in ITR1. I can't understand it, please clear my query.

02 August 2014 seems I am misreading a bit. you ca file iTR1 if you are claiming 80GG. if you calim HRA under 10(13A) then ITR2 needs to be filed
