My friend is running a small printing press managed by him and his brother in which there is no other employee at Mumbai. and the annual turn over is less than 5Lacs. Please Suggest me is it compulsory to register and payment for professional tax ? Please suggest me soon.

23 August 2012 Professional Tax is Not Applicable.
Its Applies When Salary You are Giving to any One.
But Professional Tax For Firm is Applicable.For That Register.

25 August 2012 Though there are no employee you will have to take PTEC number of the person whose name is mentioned in Shop Act liscence of Printing Press.

If turnover is less than Rs.25 lacs its 2000/- p.a

else 2500/- p.a
