28 April 2012 hi,
A company has HO in Mumbai & a branch each at Bangalore & Kolkatta.
Is Profession Tax to be deducted for employees working at the two branches as per Maharashtra PT rules or as per the PT act of Karnataka & WB respectively?

28 April 2012 Professional tax has to be paid in the state which company having branch. statewise PT rules are different. so need to pay statewise

28 April 2012 You mean to say PT is to be deducted as per the rates prevailing in the states WB & karnataka and deposited in the respective states only and not in Maharashtra? Pls. connfirm.
