Pan card

This query is : Resolved

23 December 2014 Sir,

I had two pan cards and all my taxes from my company were deposited under my 2nd pan card and had received the form 16 as well but I want the tax revision to happen on my 1st pan card as want to keep the 1st pan card also I had surrendered the 2nd pan card and had received the acknowledgement of surrender. Pl suggest that will the TDS credit can happen from my 2nd to the 1st pan card.

23 December 2014 it is illegal to keep 2 pan card with 1 name so advisable to surrender one of them

23 December 2014 No, it can NOT happen the way you want. 1st PAN is already surrendered by you. Be happy with the 2nd one.

23 December 2014 U didn't get it :

1)I have two pan cards: pan card 1 and 2
2)All taxes and filed under pan card 2
3)I want to keep Pan card 1 and want my TDS credited to Pan card 1 which I want to keep
4) To credit TDS to pan card 1 as per the rules Pan card 2 need to be surrendered

5) Pan card 2 surrendered few days back

Pl suggest if technically ..last 2 years TDS can be credited from Pan card 2 to 1 and fresh form 16 on Pan card 1 can be issued!!

24 December 2014 You need to request the person who have deducted and deposited the TAX on your 2nd PAN to revise his TDS return by replacing the old PAN to new PAN.

For this you may need to submit the attested copy of PAN if such person so asked.

Note: Forget about past you have already surrendered the 2nd one to department i.e. you intimated to department that you have 2 PANs and since have surrendered voluntarily there would be no consequence. If the same is detected by department then only there may be some legal consequences.

26 December 2014 you can intimate to the deductor regarding PAN in which you want the tds credit.
