I have qualified in November 2009. then in may 2010 joined a CA firm learnt there return filing, Balance sheet finalization, challan filing, tds returns, service tax returns, maintenance of accounts, tds analysis with 26as.
Then after working for 1 year joined a co, in april 2011 unfortunately still i am working there and nothing is learnt from here as owner is not interested in work he has just opened the co.for its entertainment.I gave almost 6-7 interviews in 2011-12 but not selected and due to some personal problems in 2013 can not concentrate on interview for switch over.
I am trying to switch over but seems my career is finished as a CA.....
CA has always a bright future and career, I have seen many CAs who had struggled in initial years even after becoming CA but later or sooner they have got the perfect job and are working beyond their expectation, only thing is some planning and patience is must.
Give more interviews, you will definitely get a very good job, do not lose hope, you are CA you can do anything and everything.
Cracking interview is not that tough as to pass CA exam.
ALL THE BEST...

Why not to think that you are Qualified with more thank 5 Years of Experience, this itself will boost your confidence for getting good job.
There is more demand of experienced CAs in the market than the freshers.
Over Prepare yourself for the Interviews.

I am doing same reading journals, attending seminars i keep myself updated but unless and until practical exp.is not there many things can not be cleared like form 3CD has been changed and i know many changes but such as clause 34 jab tak ise practically apply nahi karenge to clearity nahi aaegi...in case of revised schedule VI i know current and non current classification but practically how operating cycle is defined i am still unaware about this

I am agree with you friend that after practical exposure only one gets things clear and it gives confidence.
But as far as cracking interview is concerned you must be updated about the recent changes in tax provisions, once you through the interview you will get the exposure to all this.
Many times we take the task in hand and then learn how to do it and also successfully complete it within the time line (it is not like we are CAs so we must be knowing anything and everything). Even in each organization we learn something new. So do not think that if you don't have practically done something then you can not do it.
12 December 2014
I totally agree with you but industries ye sab nahi samajhti unhe to lagta he CA he to sab aana chahiye.....ab GST aa jaega to usme bhi experience mangenge changes to aate rehte he jab karne bethenge to ho bhi jaega....but kya kare employers dont understand this....

It is up to you, how to convince the interviewer.
Do not give negative response to the interviewer like never say NO, for example, if interviewer asks you have you did this particular task earlier, then do not say no, say i have gone through theoretical or say have come across during article ship something like that and assure him once given you can successfully do that task.
DO NOT FEAR WHILE GIVING INTERVIEW, INTERVIEWER COULD SEE THE CONFIDENCE IN YOU..

Anyways thanks for your motivation.I know following things:- 1.Filing of TDS returns in webtel (done in 2010 till then not done). 2.Filing of Individual and corporate ITRs. 3.Balance Sheet finalization. 4.Revised schedule VI but practically not done as our co.does not follow it. 5.TDS analysis with 26as. 6.Maintenance of accounts in tally 7.2, 9. 7.Filling of challans of tds, advance tax but electornically not done i know manual filling. 8.Bank Reconciliation. 9.Tax audit report (done in 2010 ) 10.aware about changes in 3CD but practically not done till 2011. 11.Filling of service tax return (done in 2010 but not done electronicaly till then) What are the other areas i must focus into as a CA to get the good job?????????
You know almost everything, you have had good exposure and you are theoretically updated with the changes then why to worry ??? You can get good job as far as profile is Direct Tax.
17 December 2014
yes but certain things like tds returns and tax audit reports i have done in 2010 and as far as amendments are concerned i just know the provisions theoretically but practicaly have not done revised schedule, new 3CD and new tds returns
17 December 2014
You may bother when you do something for the very first time but when you do something you have already done even there are some changes in formats or some information or some more data is asked for then why to worry.
When you will get the exposure to do this (TDS return, tax audit report etc.) practically I am sure you could Do it Easily by simply applying the revised provisions and referring the same reports of earlier period (which are as per the revised provisions and formats)
