Now with DIN, minor may not be able to become a Director.
Minor cannot be a director in private Limited Company or any other Company. When any person is appointed as director not only Companies Act but other Laws and Act also must be considered.
When a minor himself cannot make a contract, the directorship of minor is of no use where he has to perform certain work personally.

Further in case of a minor there is no provision in the Act expressly disqualifying him.
However, since a minor is not competent to contract, he cannot file with the Company or with the Registrar any valid consent to act as Director, as required u/s 264.
