19 May 2011 GOOD MORNING SIR,
I NEED YOUR HELP SIR,
PLZ TELL ME ONLY THIS THAT SECTION 80GG FOR RENT DEDUCTION AND HRA RAE SAME THING.I MEANS TO SAY THAT IN SECTION 80GG FOR RENT PAID DEDUCTION WHOSE DIDUCTION IS 2000 MAXIMUM . IS IT RELATIVE OF HRA.
SUPPOSE
I M PAID 4000 PER MONTH RENT ( ANNUALY 48000) THAN WHICH RULE AFFECT THIS SECTION 80GG OR HRA.. PLZ SIR IT IS VERY URGENT FOR ME

19 May 2011 first,if you received hra then you can't claim sec. 80GG or if you don't received hra but you are staying in any rental place than you can claim 80GG without receiving HRA.

as per sec 80GG

Section 80GG:Deduction in respect of House Rent Paid
Deduction available is the least of
1. Rent paid less 10% of total income
2. Rs. 2000/- per month
3. 25% of total income, provided

Assessee or his spouse or minor child should not own residential accommodation at the place of employment.
He should not be in receipt of house rent allowance.
He should not have self occupied residential premises in any other place.
