04 January 2008 hi kamini,

For claiming IT refund, the income tax return is mandatorily required to be filed. Further, IT computaiton shall be sufficient to satisfy the AO is at his disposal. It is recommended to manintain books of account for that year in which refund is applicable to satisfy the requirement if required.
