LTCG exemption under sec 54 & 54F

Can one claim LTCG under both the sections i.e 54 & 54F to buy one residential house.

What would be the position if on date of purchase of new residential house he already owns only one another house in his name.

06 September 2010 Yes allowable both 54 & 54F.

AS per section 54F he should not be having more than one house. Since u have only one house no problem.
