Late payment of tds for 31/03/2010 deposited on 23/04/2010

21 September 2011 We have recd a notice of demand u/s 156 of IT act,pertain to late deposition of tds u/s 194A for AY 2009-10, we have deposited the tax for 31 march 10 on 23/04/2010. Is there any late payment interest liabilities arises in our part ? Pls guide us.

You will have to pay interest from the period when TDS is deductible to the period actually tds deposited.
