03 July 2018 A person who filed his ITR return in the last year 2012-2013 then now did not file the return. Now he can file his ITR return in the assessment year 2018-19.

03 July 2018 Yes he can file the return now for AY 2018-19.

04 July 2018 Pay taxes to avoid penalty. Return can't be filed. If any notice received in future you can reply tax fully paid

04 July 2018 If you pay the Self Assessment Tax and it will reflect in the Form 26AS for your PAN for the year that is time barred, you will definitely get a notice from the department. Same happens if there is TDS done in your PAN and you have not filed a return for refund or no payment of income tax, that also would trigger a notice. If you get notice for a time barred year, you can file return in response to the notice and you will have to also clear all taxes, interest etc. and then file. However, chances of scrutiny assessment are very high in such cases.
