24 July 2013 i am a doctor who worked for some part of year as a salaried employee and for the other part as professional..i.e at the end of the year i got 2 tds certifictes one form 16 for salary and form 16a for fee for professional services by two different organistation..now i want to file my return..kindly guide me which itr form should i use and what expenses should i claim deduction for and upto what limit

24 July 2013 In this case you need to file itr-4 as you have income from profession.

Disclose both income above therein.

24 July 2013 You have to file ITR-4 and from salary income you can claim Prof.tax and HRA(if any) and conveyance allowances (if any) and from professional fees you can claim telephone expenses, hospital mainatain expenses,salaries to staff(if any),electricity charges and depreciation on hospital equipments(if any) etc.... as expenses and Chapter VIA deductions if any.

24 July 2013 thanks to both of u,i jus checked itr4 there is a spreadsheet for balance sheet and p and l account ,and some details for raw materials etc..which i dont have ,and there is no column of salary details

24 July 2013 For salary there is separate schedule Salary. So you have to fill such salary details at such schedule.

24 July 2013 You need to prepare income and exp and bal sheet for the period which you were earning income as doctor.

24 July 2013 As per the section 44AA doctors must and should maintain regular books of accounts i.e means should have balancesheet and Profit and loss account. However if you have such date then fill otherwise you just fill the NO ACCOUNTS CASE option at the schedule BS.
