03 April 2013 Dear Sir,

I am from India. I haven't filed IT Return for the year 10-11, 11-12 & 12-13. 2-3 days back I received a notice that Income Tax department has received information or financial transaction activities relating to you. As per records you do not appear to have filed Income Tax return for the year 10-11 & 11-12. You are requested to furnish your response in the enclosed performa to the undersigned by the post within 10 days.If no reply is received it will be inferred that you haven't filed IT return for the year mentioned above & proceedings under IT Act 1961 may be initiated.

What should I do now? How to reply the notice? What are the consequences of this? What should be done now to avoid any problems?

Please, need your help, suggestions & advice.

Regards
Yash

03 April 2013 Best solution is to respond to the notice at the earliest with appropriate reply.
Without having facts of the case we can not comment any thing. But in general we can say that if you did not have any Income which is Taxable or Income was below exemption limit than you need not worry.
Just reply suitably. Non-compliance with notice will attract penalty.

19 April 2013 We need to study your all financial statements. If you have income above exemption limit you are liable for penalty, Interest etc.

21 May 2013 Since you have not filed the return the notice must have been served by Delhi Department of Income Tax.

The best solution is prepare your return and submit it. You can write to ssunderagarwal@gmail.com by sending scanned copy of the notice
