Issue in Submission of Form 106 Secondment

This query is : Resolved

14 December 2021 Dear Sir / Madam,

I request anybody can help regarding this issue.

Since i have started to take secondment in another CA during the last year of articleship period and i have tried many times to submit the Form 106 (Secondment form) through SSP portal and i couldn't make submission due to technical issues.

Now my articleship period has competed and applied for 108 form and submitted to my primary principal CA for signatory and he is not ready to sign because of Non-submission of 106 form.

Again i'm trying to upload the form 106 and getting an "error Please select date of commencement of Assignment within 30 days from system date".

Please give me suggestion or resolve the issue, Thanks in advance

09 July 2024 It sounds like you are encountering several challenges with submitting Form 106 (Secondment form) through the SSP portal and subsequently facing issues with Form 108 due to non-submission of Form 106. Here are some steps and suggestions to resolve the issue:

### 1. Technical Issues with Form 106 Submission

Since you've been facing technical issues with submitting Form 106, here are a few steps you can take:

- **Browser Compatibility**: Ensure you are using a compatible browser as per the portal requirements. Sometimes, switching browsers or updating your current browser can resolve submission issues.

- **Clear Cache and Cookies**: Clear your browser's cache and cookies to ensure there are no stored data conflicts affecting form submission.

- **Portal Downtime**: Check if there are any scheduled maintenance or downtime periods for the SSP portal. Sometimes, portals undergo maintenance that could affect submission capabilities.

- **Contact Helpdesk**: Reach out to the helpdesk or support team of the SSP portal. They can provide technical assistance and guidance specific to the issues you are facing.

### 2. Error Message: "Select Date of Commencement within 30 days"

Regarding the error message you are encountering ("Please select date of commencement of Assignment within 30 days from system date"), here’s what you can do:

- **Date Selection**: Ensure that the date you are selecting for the commencement of the secondment assignment falls within 30 days from the current system date. The SSP portal likely has this requirement to ensure timely reporting of assignments.

- **System Date Check**: Double-check your computer's system date and time settings. Sometimes discrepancies in date settings can cause errors when submitting forms online.

- **Retry Submission**: If possible, try submitting the form again with a date of commencement that meets the portal’s requirements (within 30 days from the current date).

### 3. Non-submission of Form 106 and Form 108 Signing Issue

Since your primary principal CA is not ready to sign Form 108 due to non-submission of Form 106, here’s what you can do:

- **Explain the Situation**: Clearly explain the technical difficulties you faced with submitting Form 106 to your primary principal CA. Provide any documentation or proof of attempts to submit the form.

- **Seek Guidance from Institute**: Contact the institute (ICAI) for guidance on how to proceed in case of technical issues preventing form submission. They may provide specific instructions or alternative methods for resolving such issues.

- **Escalate if Necessary**: If your primary principal CA continues to refuse signing Form 108 despite your efforts to resolve the submission issue, consider escalating the matter to higher authorities within your CA firm or to the institute.

### General Tips:

- **Document Everything**: Keep records of all communications, attempts to submit forms, error messages encountered, and responses from the portal helpdesk or institute. These can be crucial if you need to appeal or provide evidence later.

- **Persistence**: Continue to follow up with the SSP portal helpdesk and your primary principal CA. Persistence in resolving these administrative issues is often key to achieving a resolution.

In summary, resolving technical issues with form submission requires patience and persistence. Ensure you follow the portal’s guidelines, verify your system settings, and seek support from relevant authorities (portal helpdesk, institute) to overcome these challenges. If necessary, escalate within your firm or to higher authorities for assistance.
