Income tax refund

30 September 2011 One of my client has received an intimation u/s 143(1) and according to that he would get a tax refund of Rs. 16000/-. but he hasn't received any cheque from dept and now refund cheque status is showing Expired : Refund cheque not deposited in bank for 90 days.
Please tell me what procedure to be followed to get it refunded and also plz attach a sample copy of letter to be written to dept.

30 September 2011 contact IT Department & consult their officers. Pls also check whether the postal address is correct in IT Dept's record (because the check is not received at the address mentioned in Return).

30 September 2011 Write a letter to Local Income tax ward officer mentioned the bank account details and current address details and attached cancelled cheque.
