For export purposes, including submitting documents like the Certificate of Origin (COO) to authorities such as the Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC), it's crucial that the details match accurately with what is stated in your export documentation, including the HSN code.
In your case: - Your export invoice and packing list mention the correct 8-digit HSN code: 39235000. - However, for the endorsement of the Country of Origin at IMC, only the first 5 digits of the HSN code (3923500) are mentioned.
The 5-digit code (39235) represents the heading under which your product falls, whereas the 8-digit code (39235000) provides more specific information about the product.
### Acceptability and Action: 1. **Accuracy Requirement:** Generally, export authorities require accurate information, including the correct HSN code. The 8-digit HSN code (39235000) provides more specific classification of your product.
2. **IMC Submission:** Since IMC is involved in endorsing the Country of Origin, they might have specific requirements regarding the HSN code format. It's essential to ensure that the format they require matches what you have submitted.
3. **Correction:** If there is a discrepancy and IMC requires the 8-digit HSN code (39235000) instead of the 5-digit one (3923500), you may need to get the information corrected at IMC. This ensures compliance and avoids any potential issues during the export process.
### Conclusion: To ensure compliance and smooth processing of your export documentation, it's advisable to check with IMC regarding their specific requirements for the HSN code format. If they require the full 8-digit HSN code (), you should proceed with correcting the information accordingly. Always double-check such details to avoid delays or issues in export procedures.
