Hello sir, i heard that it is necessary to obtain rent recetpt with PAN number of the owner to get HRA exemption. If it is so, what if the owner of the rented house do not have the PAN NUMBER?
yes, you have to obtain PAN only when rent payment pa. exceeds Rs. 2 lacs.*
In case the landlord does not have a PAN, a declaration to this effect from the landlord along with the name and address of the landlord should be filed by the employee.
