How to claim refund the Professional Tax double paid to Maharashtra Government?

I am a salaried employee as well as working as an insurance agent for Health Insurance Company.
Both Employer and Health Insurance company deducted my Professional Tax and paid to Maharashtra Government. So total Professional Tax paid to Government is Five Thousand(5000)
Is there any process to claim refund of Professional Tax?

09 July 2024 In Maharashtra, if you have paid professional tax through multiple sources (such as from your salary as a salaried employee and as an insurance agent), you can claim a refund for the excess professional tax paid. Here’s how you can proceed:

1. **Collect Proof of Payment**: Gather proof of professional tax payments made from both sources (your salary and as an insurance agent). This could include salary slips showing professional tax deduction, receipts from the Health Insurance Company, or any other relevant documents.

2. **Prepare an Application**: Write an application addressed to the Professional Tax Officer (PTO) of your jurisdiction in Maharashtra. Include details such as your name, PAN, address, sources of income where professional tax was deducted, and the total amount of professional tax paid.
