Our company GSTN has cancelled its being near about one year due to return not filed so far that too since covid started no business performance has been done, as per calculations there is some around 18k penalty has occured and we are ready to pay penalty but now we want to resume our business and we need our GSTN back, could you please suggest us exactly what we need to do. First of all, VISIT the official GST website. You need to fill the application form of canceled GST registration
Now click on the Login option
Now input your user name and the password. Make sure you put all the correct username and password. Otherwise, you will not be able to log in. Now fill in the captcha code and press the login button
Then you have to click on the service button. Once you click on the service button, you will find many options to choose from. You need to choose the "application for revocation of canceled registration" button. Once you click on the button, one new page will appear on your screen. There you will get an option like 'reason for revocation.' Now you need to fill the revocation form and submit that. Attach all the required documents along with the form
Once you are done with the documents attachment, You need to select the verification box. There you need to verify the revocation and fill the authorized signatory name and also mentioned the other details like name, place, etc
Now save the form and retrieve it, or you can submit the form as well. You will receive an OTP number when you click the submit button. The OTP will be sent to your email id or in the mobile, which you have registered in the GST portal. After getting the OTP number, fill the number to validate the form on the site. Now you will receive an acknowledgement letter; also, you will get an acknowledgement message in your mobile number
The officer will go through your application, and if he is satisfied with your application, then he will move further. He should be satisfied with your mentioned reasons given in the revocation application. If it is satisfied, then only he will revoke the cancelled GST registration and give orders accordingly
You will receive an SMS or an email in your mobile for the approval of the revocation, and then the GSTIN Will be active once again
Suppose the officer is not satisfied with your reasons for cancellation of the canceled GST registration, he will reject your application, and the GST number will remain inactive. So be cautious about the reasons you mentioned in the application
If you are not comfortable with the online procedure, you can choose the offline process too. Download the form from the GST official site. Fill all the details, Attach all the required documents, and send it to the GST office. It's time-consuming in comparison to the online procedure
