From a banker to a c.s

This query is : Resolved

07 March 2013 My question is, is quitting banking for becoming C.s a right decision? I am 28 & working with a small-sized banking company at middle-management level. I have already enrolled myself for c.s exec prog. My salary is around 3 - 4 lacs p.a. and 15 yrs down the line, it may at best become 12-15 lacs p.a. I currently find studying for c.s very interesting & engaging.

07 March 2013 Dear Snap,

Dont quit the job. You continue both simultaneously. Once you complete your CS then you came out from the bank and you have a bright future.

07 March 2013 Seriously talking about now a days Professionals are moving towards bank jobs so dont quit ur job n continue it with C.S

07 March 2013 agreed with expert advice for enroll for llb.

07 March 2013 True dont quit your job. Continue and keep on looking for better employment opportunities accordingly.

07 March 2013 Thank you all. What I am most desperate about knowing is, does being a C.S have a better growth potential than being in banking (i mean normal branch banking, i am not talking about specialised verticals). Worst, my job doesnt leave me enough time for C.S studies. As I am slowly turning 30, I want to take a decision which will make a positive difference in my life. Also, can somebody tell me whether my banking experience will in anyway help me get a better job after I become C.S?

08 March 2013 Since your main area is banking I think it will definitely give u an edge since u will be more conversant with corporate and banking laws after doing CS. Your area of work would expand depending on how deeper knowledge of the subject you gain.

At the same time however my advice would be to manage somehow ur job with CS exams. Its difficult but not impossible. All the best.
