Dear all, appreciate if you can help.
I was working in company X from Apr-Dec,09 and company Y in Jan-Mar,10. While leaving Company X, I forgot to submit my HR Rent Receipts and the company hence did not give any exemption on HRA in the Form 16 for the period Apr-Dec,09. In order to adjust the same, I submitted my HR receipts for the entire 12 motnhs Apr-Mar to Company Y and asked them to adjust the exemptions accordingly. While the company Y has given exemption for House rent for the entire period of 12 months, the Form 16 for Company Y does not highlight the rent paid for the period Apr-Dec, 09. I also understand that I might have filed my return wrongly, so an intimation under section 143 (1) is expected. What should I do since my Form 16 from either of the cmopanies is not showing the HRA exemption for the period Apr-Dec,09 . Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks

You can claim HRA in your Return of income.
