It is based on the Total Income computed by AO. If it is below one lac, then the fee is Rs.250/-, If it exceeds 1lac but below 2 lac, then the fees is Rs.500/-, above 2 lac- Rs. 1000/- and in any other case it is 250/- refer sec.249(1) of I. Tax Act, 1961
