05 September 2010 what is the difference between unrealised rent and arrears of rent ?

05 September 2010 Arrears of rent means when there is any variation in the terms of lease agreement leading to upward revision of rent from retrospective effect then such increased rent may be regarded as arrears of rent. For example if Rent is increased from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1400 per month from 01/01/2005 then the increase of Rs. 400 p.m. would be arrears of rent. Unrealised rent is the rent which is not yet received although the same had been offered fot taxation.
