28 January 2010 rent paid for own use house while HRA is not received from employer, deduction can be calaimed u/s 80GG as under:

The deduction shall be the least of the following amounts:
• Rs. 2000 per month
• 25 percent of the Adjusted Total Income
• The excess of actual rent paid over 10 per cent of Adjusted total Income

28 January 2010 If the HRA not received you can claim Sec.80GG

28 January 2010 Agree with both Experts, if you not received HRA then you can claim deduction under section 80GG
