One of the changes in the Companies Act, 2013 is that AGM can now be held on all days including Public holidays but cannot be held on National Holidays as declared by the Central Government (section 96(2) of the Act). So companies can now hold annual general meetings on all the days except National Holidays.
An annual general meeting can be called during business hours, that is, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any day that is not a National Holiday.
I haven't come across a Company convening AGM/EGM on Sunday. And Sunday is not considered as business day. And as per the Act meeting to be called during business hours that is between 9 am to 6 pm.
