CST Act

This query is : Resolved

03 November 2009 Dear sir,

I am working as an accountant in private organisation, our unit is manufacturing of GAS VIGIL ALARMS and for the financial year 2007-08 we charged the cst @ 4% WITH C-FORM to OUTSIDE ANDHRA PRADESH dealers as per CST Act. Now the customer did not issued the C-form. Then how much rate of cst is 4% or 12.5% is liable to department ? please suggest me

03 November 2009 CST rate without C form is 10% or state VAT rate which ever is more. If u have paid 4% to Government, balance amount with interest has to be paid to Government.

04 November 2009 First of all, I think that the rate of CST for 2007-08 was 3% against Form C. Incase, the customer does not issue C Form, then you are liable to pay the rate of tax that is applicable to 'gas vigil alarm' incase of local sale. If it is 12.5%, then you will have to pay balance tax with interest and penalty and if it is 4%, then u will have to pay only penalty, if you have paid CST @4%
