our client has business of supply of labour for catering job. he make registration and charge service tax on each bill. But his turnover does not exceed Rs 9 lacs. So is it necessary for him to pay service tax to Government. please reply soon

The small scale exemption is ten lakhs. And when the taxable service exceeds nine lakh then the service provider has to register with the service tax department. The service provider has to pay service tax to the government if he has collected on the service bill even though he is within the small scale exemption limit
