27 August 2008 what is the distinction between registered office and corporate office ?
can corporate office be a in a city other than registered office's city?
where the books of accounts, minutes has to be kept?

27 August 2008 Dear Pratiba,

The Registered Office is the communication Between Comopany and ROC and Stock Exchanges.

The Corporate Office is may not be a Registered Office

Both the offices need not be in Situated in the Same City

As Per Sec. 209 of companies Act, The Books Of Accounts should be kept at Registered Office. if any other place should inform to ROC

27 August 2008 Corporate Office is the Bussiness head Office..
But Registered Office is Where Books of Accounts Were Kept .. and it is the Communication Address for ROC


28 August 2008 Registered Office: As the name suggests that the Office which is Registered as the office of the Company with ROC. It is the official address of the company where company is supposed to maintain the statutory books accounts etc. Form 18 is filed by the company to get the office address registered with ROC at the time of Incorporation of the co or at the time of any change thereafter.

28 August 2008 Corporate office is not recognised by Company Law. So it can be anywhere.
