Whether the amount of dividend re-invested has to be considered as cost (i.e. purchase value) of capital asset (i.e. shares/mutual funds)for the purpose of computation of capital gains.

yes you should show dividend as incme which is exmpted and divident reinvested will be considered as cost of new unit that you get as such units are given at current NAV.
