what is the tax treatment of gain on sale of vacant land situated in rural area and is there any alternative to save tax on it and land is not used for agricultural purpose

Yes. Agreed.You may also make investments u/s 54EC in National Rural Electrification Bonds or National Highway Authority of Inida, which also,I think is open now.
