An amount of Rs 670605 is credited and tds amount of Rs 13751 are reflected on form 26AS of one of my client in FY 14-15. My question is Can I show income in ITR is less than the amount which is credited on 26AS? if yes How much amount can be minimized in ITR in comprision of 26AS as I already said that on 26AS there is 670605? If no why? I am trying to minimize the income in ITR in order to claim refund. but amount Rs 670605 on 26AS has made me confused?

You don`t want to show your actual income, trying to declare less income and want to claim refund. You may face penalty u/s 271 which is minimum to equal of tax. think twice before doing so. rest of on you

Sir, I was already sure that it's not legal & u confirmed me too. but my friend is insisting me to file return & claim whole refund of Rs 13731 He says that there is a little chance for notice to be issued to him & and if issued to him it will take 2 & 3 years. Sir, I want to know, if I file return showing that amount of income which is non taxable after claiming deduction in different section becoz on 26AS income is credited 670605. if he receive refund in future. Will any problem come to me in future in case notice issued to him. Can income tax dept ask me in future that why have your filled his return?
