I am working in a private firm as office secretary and interested in joining the CA course but afraid of the articleship. I cannot skip my job and join the articleship outside of my company. Can somebody clear my below doubts on this?
1. Can I do the articleship under my company's Chartered Accountant who is only an individual and he does not belong to any CA firm?
2. Is doing the articleship with a CA firm is compulsory or can I approach any other individual CA or can I join a small individual company?
3. Can I practice as articleship by joining my present company's accounts dept?

Hi, The answer to all your question is that you are required to do articleship under a Practicing Chartered Accountant. However, in the last year of articleship , you can have an insustrial training under a company approved by the ICAI for providing Industrial Traing.
In view odf that answers to your questions are> 1. No. 2. Compulsory with Practicing CA. 3. No.

In response to your answer on my profile > 1. Yes you can go for article ship under the CA but you have to quit your job and register as a article under the CA. The CA must have been running a CA Practicing firm, it is not concerned with consulting or not.
2.For your companies eligibility, check out with ICAI.Check this link for some details
