As per finance bill 2010, cashless medical treatments are under perview of Service tax.
some of hospitals are not registered for service tax. Now they are applying for the same. whether they can charge service tax untill they get the registration from servive tax authorities ?

Can be charged but the collected service tax is tobe remitted to the govt. account. You may mention applied for in the invoice. Above all, registration can be done in matter of hours. Best of luck.

yes they can charge. Ensure that they should mentioned on bill either provisional service tax registration number or applied for service tax. Might be registration will be centralised. And it will take to get registration number 2 to 3 months.
