PERQUISITES are benefits flowing to an employee, as a result of the relationship he/she shares with the employer. This arises from an office or position held by the employee that benefits the employee. The benefit may arise either to the employee or to any member of his family. Perquisite may be monetary or non-monetary in nature.
Allowances are cash payment for an intended purpose.
