Hello everyone...I am an new user on this site. I have a query regarding my career...all of you are experts and knowledgeable people and I hope that I will get a good response and your help will be beneficial for my career...
I did MBA (Finance & Marketing) from ICFAI University, Dehradun in 2010 as a regular student after which I enrolled for CFA from ICFAI (Currently in Group B)But now the problem is, I am very much confused about which field to pursue. Currently I am working with a small manufacturing unit in Himachal Pradesh as Accounts & Marketing Executive but I am confused about which way I am heading to because my interest is preferably in Finance and secondly in Accounts. But I don't know how & where to start my career using my qualifications and interest that is in Finance and if I start with accounts I will have to start from the very base level where salaries are very low and where will this MBA-Finance will help if I start with accounts also & it will take a lot of time to get to a certain level (I am also a commerce graduate - B.Com).
Could you please help me on this issue. As this is a very critical time for me.

I think you should join any bank or NBFC like- Shree Ram,Religare,Indiabulls etc. In this sector there is lot of scope. Try to become a part of project for Foreign Investment Projects in Health and Education Sector, I think it will be helpful in future to boost up your carrier.
Since this query was still kept open...I would like to put up my views...
First of all decide what do you like doing. MBA and CFA should not dictate what you want to do in life. If you want to become an entrepreneur and start something of your own, I think your current profile is best.
If you want to remain in job, then think what interests you. Finance is a very wide field. There can roles in corporate finance (accounts is the first step of this bigger role),financial markets (trading, research, relationship managers), numerous roles in banking domain (including merchant banking, investment banking),marketing of financial products, business analyst(finance domain) in IT companies,Financial planners, so on and so forth.
All the fields are good and pay handsomely to deserving candidate. Decide which one interests you most and you would be comfortable working. And then look for a job accordingly.
Thank you for your guidance but the issue remains the same. I have interest in "research, merchant banking, investment banking, business analysis, corporate finance" its like I am standing at a point where there are many ways and I can work at any profile but I am confused which way to go. :)
